Her religious name was Sr. Mary Rita.12,13,14 George, Phyliss and Ruth along with some others went by bus to see Hal Roach. In the dining room of Chez Joseph's, there were about a thousand people. George said "Hey, that looks like Ray Quinn". (He is the son of the family's physician, Dr. Quinn, and their family lived about 2 or three houses up from Ralph Phelan. He was a prosecuting attorney) Ruth said, "I haven't seen him in 60 years or more." Ray telephoned George and said that he wanted George to tell him more about Ruth. George said that she was a nun, but Ray was a little hard of hearing and Ray said, "What? She's a nut?" He then asked George if he could call Ruth. She is an early bird to bed, but she is a basketball nut so she was awake when he called late that night. They began seeing each other since.13 and a basketball enthusiast.3 Ruth was a volunteer tutor.3 (an unknown value.)15
     Ruth Mary Phelan died on 15 June 2008 at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Connecticut, at age 84 as a result of a motor vehicle accident.3,16
