     Fernande Grenier married William J. Verriker Sr., son of Edward F. Verriker and Bridget A. Lehane, on 12 June 1948 in her parish church, Montreal, Canada.3,4,5
     William J. died on 7 February 1987 at Waterbury, Connecticut, at age 84 from arteriosclerotic heart disease leaving Fernande a widow.6,3
     Fern happened to be part of the Waterbury Chorale's trip to China between July 1995 and August 1995. I was, too, and I had no idea we were related until Aunt Kathleen Healey mentioned it.7 She was instrumental in establishing the Planned Lifetime Assistamce Network (Plan of CT), an organization dedicated to helping individuals struggling with mental disabilities.8 She was very active in the community, contributing to Waterbury Hospital, Saint Mary's Hospital, Mattatuck Community College, Harold Leever Cancer Center, the Connecticut Community Foundation, St. Anne's Church, the Waterbury Symphony, PETA, and others. She took the lead role in establishing the capital improvement project for St. Anne's Church on South Main Street.9
     Fernande Grenier died on 8 August 2013 at The Village at East Farms, Waterbury, Connecticut, at age 92.10 She was buried on 12 August 2013 at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury, Connecticut.11
