           William James Neary Jr. was born on 9 November 1899 at Naugatuck, Connecticut..4,5,6 He resided in 1918 at 126 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, Connecticut.7
     With no end in sight for World War I, the United States instituted its third and final registration. It included all men who were between the ages of 18 and 21, and 31 to 45 years of age. This added younger men than the previous registration, those who were born between September 12, 1897 and September 12, 1900; and added an older group of men, born between September 12, 1873 and September 12, 1888. William James Neary Jr. filled out a draft card on 12 September 1918 at Naugatuck, Connecticut. He was described on his card as tall with a slender build and blue eyes.8 He married Maureen Slavin, daughter of Dennis Joseph Slavin and Mary Agnes Dwyer.9,10,11,3 William James Neary Jr. and Maureen Slavin resided in 1936 at 126 Fairview Avenue, Waterbury, Connecticut.12 William James Neary Jr. and Maureen Slavin were found on a passenger list on 13 December 1936 at the port of New York on the S. S. Orizaba which left the port of Veracruz on the 7th of December.13 William James Neary Jr. and Maureen Slavin resided in 1941 at 15 Meadow Street, Naugatuck, Connecticut.14 William James Neary Jr. and Maureen Slavin were found on a passenger list on 12 February 1941 at the port of New York on the S. S. Quirigua which left the port of Barranquilla, Colombia on the 4th of February.15 William James Neary Jr. and Maureen Slavin resided in 1952 at Breakneck Hill, Middlebury, Connecticut.16 William James Neary Jr. and Maureen Slavin were found on a passenger list on 5 March 1952 at the port of New York on the S. S. Panama which left the port of Cristobal, Canal Zone, on the 29th of February. Her sister, Barbara, was also a passenger on the ship.13 William James Neary Jr. and Maureen Slavin were found on a passenger list on 22 February 1954 at the port of New York on the S. S. Santa Maria sailing first class. The ship left the port of Callao, Peru on the 9th of February.2 William James Neary Jr. and Maureen Slavin resided in 1956 at Breakneck Hill, Middlebury, Connecticut.17 William James Neary Jr. and Maureen Slavin were found on a passenger list on 9 November 1956 at the port of New York on the French S. S. Liberte which left the port of Southampton, England on the 3rd of November.18 William James Neary Jr. and Maureen Slavin resided in November 1967 at Naugatuck, Connecticut.19
     William James Neary Jr. died on 3 November 1967 at Waterbury, Connecticut, at age 67.20
