He was appointed a U.S. national ski jumping judge, he delighted in officiating at the old ski-jumping competitions on the 14th hole of the Dartmouth golf course. In later years, (largely, according to Bob, because of Kate's extraordinary prowess and low handicap). He was invited to join Scotland's renowned Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, where he was affectionately addressed by all as "the professor".9 He was described as a creative, caring man wiht a big smile and a twinkle in his eyes, according to his former colleagues. He had "deep instincts about the quality of life and thecreative potential of human beings.9
     Robert H. Guest died on 27 September 2005 at Harvest Hill, Lebanon, New Hampshire, at age 89.9
