     Thomas Healy was born on 3 January 1875 at Drumgullane Townland, Clashmore, County Waterford, Ireland. The birth was registered on 4 February 1875 by Margaret Heally, mother.^11,12,13 He was also known to have been born on 14 November 1880 at Waterford, Ireland.^{14,15,16,17,18} He also went by the name of Tom.¹⁹

     Thomas Healy appears as Thomas Healy, age 22, in the census of April 1901 at Drumgullane Townland, Youghal, County Waterford, Ireland,in the household of John Healy as a farmer.²¹
     His intended destination was Waterbury, and he arrived at the Port of New York aboard the R.M. S Lucania. He was intending to go to his brother, James, in Waterbury. An entry for him was noted on 20 July 1901 coming into New York to see his brother, James. But, the entry has a line written through it as if he had changed his mind and was no longer on the ship. The latter date, September 13, seems more feasible on 13 September 1901.²² Thomas Healy was a sponsor at the baptism of Andrew Joseph Healy, his nephew, on 23 October 1904 at Saint Francis Xavier Church, Waterbury, Connecticut; Sponsors were Thomas Healey, his paternal uncle, and Catherine McCormack and he was baptized by John Fleming.²³
     Thomas Healy married Catherine Donovan in 1909.²⁴

     Thomas Healy and Catherine Donovan resided on 30 April 1910 at 790 East Main Street, Waterbury, Connecticut, with Tom's brother, James, and his sister-in-law, Mary.³ Thomas Healy was a pin maker in a pin factory on 30 April 1910 at Waterbury, Connecticut.³
     With no end in sight for World War I, the United States instituted its third and final registration. It included all men who were between the ages of 18 and 21, and 31 to 45 years of age. This added younger men than the previous registration, those who were born between September 12, 1897 and September 12, 1900; and added an older group of men, born between September 12, 1873 and September 12, 1888. Thomas Healy filled out a draft card on 10 September 1918 at Waterbury, Connecticut. His occupation was described as a patient in a Connecticut Hospital Institution.²⁵

     Thomas Healy, age 49, appears as Thomas Healy in the census of 7 May 1930 in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut, as a patient in the Connecticut State Hospital For the Insane. His occupation was a helper on the grounds of the hospital.⁵
