     Elizabeth Quinn also went by the name of Betty.1,2
     Betty graduated from St. Margaret's Grammar School at Waterbury, Connecticut, in 1959 as valedictorian5 and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Education. Subsequently, she earned a sixth year plus 15 certificate in education.6
     For 36 years, Betty was a kinfegarten teacher at Driggs School, Waterbury, where she profoundly and positively influenced many young lives. Many of her former students still kept in touch with her well into adulthood.7,8
     Betty was active in the Waterbury Teachers' Association. She served as a WTA respresentative, on the grievance committee and executive baord, and as second vice president. She also served as one of the chief negotiators on several contracts.9
     Betty was a member of the Democratic Town Committee, she was a tireless volunteer worker on election campaigns for Mayors Bergin, Jarjura, and O'Leary. She was currently the chair of the Waterbury Board of Ethics.
     In honor of her efforts on behalf of her party, she received an award from the State Federation of Democratic Women.10
     Elizabeth Quinn died on 20 July 2015 at Waterbury, Connecticut, at age 70.11 She was buried on 24 July 2015 at Waterbury, Connecticut, in a private burial.12
