My dear Children
In the hopes of preventing any ill feeling after death, I think it is best to state how I should like some of my things disposed of.
To my daughter Lizzie I give my feather bed (her mothers) my small silver watch, family Bible, writing desk & tea caddy with contents, tea spoons & the other plated cutlery, small breakfast art frame and marmalade, also my picture of the donkeys head, her mothers Pearl purse.
To my son Willie I leave my stopwatch, chain & seal, all my clothing, all the tools at the shop, and the small opera glasses, my fourpenny bit pen.
To my son Charley, I leave my diamond ring, bookcase and books ( with exception of Bible & Life of Christ, the water color drawing of Ludford Bridge, oil painting of Lord Strafford & secretary & my iron bedstead.
To my Brother Charley I leave my Fathers Portrait, my Scarf Pin (Pearl Blue Enamelled).
To my Brother Alfred I leave my Set of Spanish Beetle Studs
To my Brother Harry I leave my large field glasses
To my sister Annie, my fourglass cruet, and my metal tea pot

To my cousin Mary Jane Smith I leave my mourning ring, made from her fathers, and her sisters wedding ring also, in remembrance of her kindness to my son Charlie.
To my Mother I leave my book of the Life of Christ and all my other things, household furniture, in the event of her keeping the house on, if not, the things to be sold or divided which belong to me.
After expenses are paid the balance of the money from all sourses, to be equally divided between my three children and mother.
If any dispute should arise I leave it ithe hands of my Brother Charley to settle. I also wish my brother Charlie to have the full management of the funeral arrangements & receive all moneys due to me & the balance to be divided as foresaid & my Brother's expences as regard to travelling to be paid out of such moneys as shall be received.
