Perhaps this appentice was a Rigg family member.3 Ruth resided with John in Dalton, England, on 31 May 1854.15 Ruth and John resided on 12 October 1856 at Dalton.16

Unto my daughter Ruth Ann Rigg I give and bequeath the sum of One hundred pounds also the Piano best bedshade best feather bed, pair of Blankets, pair of sheets two quilts one bolster two pillows the large framed photograph of myself and sewing machine for her sole use and benefit absolutely. Unto my son Septimus Pearson Rigg I give and bequeath the sum of Fifty pounds for his own use and benefit absolutely. Unto my son Reuben Octavius Rigg I give and bequeath the sum of Fifty pounds for his own use and benefit absolutely. Unto my son Thomas Rigg I give and bequeath the sum of Thirty pounds for his own use and benefit absolutely. Unto my daughter in law Margaret Rigg Wife of John Ashburner Rigg I give and bequeath the sum of Thirty pounds for her sole use and benefit absolutely. Unto my daughter Hannah Mary Smith I give and bequeath the sum of Thirty pounds for her sole use and benefit absolutely. Unto my daughter Elizabeth Jane Robinson I give and bequeath the sum of Thirty pounds for her sole use and benefit absolutely. Unto my son William Robert Rigg I give and bequeath the sum of Thirty pounds for his sole use and benefit absolutely. Unto my granddaughter Margaret Ruth Rigg the daughter of Thomas Rigg I give and bequeath the sum of Thirty (crossed out) pounds for her her own use and benefit absolutely. The residue of my real and personal estate from whatever source realized to be divided in equal shares between the beforenamed Joseph Rigg, Ruth Ann Rigg, Septimus Pearson Rigg, Reuben Octavius Rigg, Thos Rigg, Hannah Mary Smith, Elizabeth Jane Robinson, William Robert Rigg, and Margaret Rigg Wife of John Ashburner rigg. And, I appoint my son Joseph Rigg and my son-in-law William Robinson, Backside, Dalton-In-Furness and Joseph Edwards 6 Nelson Street Dalton-In-Furness my executors of this my last will and that the said trustees be allowed out of my estate reasonabale expenses to enable them to carry out the above instructions. And I revoke all previous wills by me at anytime previously made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. BE IT KNOWN that at the date hereunder written the last Will and Testament of Ruth Rigg of 55 Market Street Dalton In Furness in the County of Lancaster, Widow, Butcher and Farmer deceased who died on the 13th day of January 1897 and who at the time of her death had a fixed place of abode at Dalton in Furness aforesaid within the District of the County of Lancaster except the Hundreds of Salford and West Derby and the city of Manchester was proved and registered in the District Probate Registry of Her Majesty's High Court of Justice at Lancaster and that the Administration of the personal estate of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Joseph Rigg 2 Wellington Street Dalton In Furness aforesaid Butcher son of the said deceased William Robinson of Beckside Dalton in Furness aforesiad auctioneer and Joseph Edwards of 6 Nelson Street Dalton In Furness aforesaid Insurance Agent the Executors named in the said Will they having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same.
