     MULVANEY, EDWARD FRANCIS

Edward Francis Mulvaney, 86 years old, of Gilbert, Arizona and formerly of North Haven, Connecticut, peacefully joined the Lord on December 22, 2009 with his family present. He was born on May 2, 1923 in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Francis Thomas Mulvaney and Marguerite Robillard Mulvaney. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Mary Claire Homon Mulvaney, and four children: Marie Mulvaney Garber of San Diego, CA, Brian Mulvaney of Gilbert, AZ, Mark Mulvaney of Centennial, CO, and John Mulvaney of Cheshire, CT, as well as eleven grandchildren: Christopher and Jeffrey Garber, Michael, Matthew, Kevin, Robert, Kaitlin, Jessica, Melissa, Lorna and Connor Mulvaney. Edward is also survived by his brother, William Mulvaney of Scottsdale, AZ. Mr. Mulvaney enlisted and proudly served his country during World War II as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Air Force. After the war he attended Hillyer College (University of Hartford) in Hartford, Ct. He was employed as a salesman by Southern New England Typographic Service of Hamden, CT for nineteen years and by Eastern Press of New Haven, CT for twenty years. Ed was an avid downhill skier as well as a fine craftsman with innovative ideas in woodworking. He was a former member of the High Lane Club in Hamden, CT and enjoyed travel. Ed's life was committed to his spiritual walk with Jesus and to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a friend to many and lived his life with unconditional love and compassion. His deepest joy was sharing life with family and friends.

A funeral Mass for Edward Mulvaney will be held at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 1730 W. Guadalupe Road, Mesa, AZ. 85202 on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.. Burial services will be private. Donations in Edward Mulvaney's memory may be made to: Hospice of the Valley, Administrative Office, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014-5656.
